Bird facts:

In the world right now there are 10000 different species of birds worldwide.

The ostrich is the largest bird in the world. It also lays the largest eggs. 

Birds have hollow bones which help them fly.

Scientists believe that birds evolved from the theropod dinosaurs.

Hummingbirds can fly backwards.

Around 20% of bird species migrate long distances every year.

Chickens are the most common species of bird found in the world. 


Interesting bird facts:

Ostriches have the largest eyes of any land animals.

Some ducks sleep with one eye open.

budgies catch each other's yawns.

Parrots can learn to say hundreds of words.
